I hope you all kept warm this winter. I am happy to announce that we have a new website, listed above and on page 6. The board would like to thank Garey Burt for taking the lead and getting this done. Our calendar of events is set for the year, and we hope you, your friends & family will attend. We need these strong turnouts to keep the Alumni going. Thanks to Charles Wuest, we have a new venue to replace Fontana’s Grove for our annual picnic. As a member of the Frontiersmen VFW Post 7545 in Tonawanda, he was able to secure this great location for us. I look forward to seeing you all at these events.

THE SENECA VHS ALUMNI AWARDS PROGRAM
The SVHSAA Awards Program is offered to the children, grandchildren or great-grandchildren of a Seneca V.H.S. Alumni Sponsor. The sponsor must have been a dues-paying member of the Alumni Association for at least the last 3 consecutive years or a Life Member for the previous 3 years. An awards Committee will review the applicant’s eligibility. Past awards have ranged up to $400 per recipient. This year’s recipients were Evan Braunscheidel, Luke Gworek, Emma Sentz, Elliott T. Swiatek, Tyler J. White and Kyra Wolf.
AWARDS APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) The applicant must be a current High School senior who will graduate this year. (Proof of graduation is required). The applicant needs to submit a 250-word essay, neatly typed & spellchecked, stating why the applicant feels he or she deserves the award. (e.g. - High School performance, achievements and their future goals).
2) The applicant needs to provide, at the end of their essay sheet: their Name, Age, Address, High School, Sponsor, and their relationship to their sponsor as well as the year of the sponsors’ graduation.
3) The applicant must furnish an address & phone number where he or she can be reached by mail or phone by the Awards Committee.
4) The applicant’s essay must be mailed to: Marty Spencer, 176 Mariemont Ave., Bflo. NY 14220

5) The Awards Committee will accept essays postmarked from June 10, 2026 to July 31, 2026. The awards will be presented at our annual Alumni Picnic on August 15, 2026. The advertising subscription rate is $50/year. The $50 donation helps defray some of the costs of publishing and mailing our newsletter.
